Mango Passion Fruit Margarita Sorbet

Mango Passion Fruit Margarita Sorbet

Welcome back to Boozy Sorbets!

In Episode 3, we’re diving into a tropical paradise with our Mango Passion Fruit Margarita Sorbet.

This delightful concoction is a perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and boozy flavors that will transport you straight to a sunny beach with every spoonful.

And for those who prefer a non-alcoholic treat, fear not!

This recipe is just as delicious without the booze.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen mango
  • 2 cups frozen passion fruit (We recommend using @Pitaya Foods passion fruit cubes, which you can find at Whole Foods, Walmart, or Kroger)
  • Juice from 3 limes (about 1/3 cup or 2 1/2 oz)
  • 1/2 cup agave
  • 2 tbsp orange liqueur (triple sec, Cointreau, etc.)
  • 2/3 cup tequila

Instructions:

  1. Blend Everything Together:
  • Add all the ingredients into a blender.
  • Blend until the mixture is completely smooth. Make sure there are no chunks left, as we want a silky sorbet texture.
  1. Freeze:
  • Pour the smooth mixture into a loaf pan or another suitable container.
  • Freeze for at least 6 hours or, for the best results, overnight.
  1. Serve:
  • Due to the alcohol content, this sorbet will remain relatively soft even after freezing.
  • Serve immediately after removing it from the freezer for the best texture.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Non-Alcoholic Version:
If you’re skipping the alcohol, simply omit the orange liqueur and tequila. The mango, passion fruit, lime, and agave combination is incredibly refreshing on its own!
  • Passion Fruit Substitution:
If you can’t find frozen passion fruit cubes, don’t worry! You can use passion fruit nectar or juice. Simply pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze them to use in the recipe.
  • Storage:
Although the sorbet will stay relatively soft, it’s best enjoyed fresh from the freezer. If you have leftovers, cover the container tightly to prevent ice crystals from forming.

Why You’ll Love This Sorbet:

  • Tropical Flavors: The combination of mango and passion fruit creates an explosion of tropical flavors that are both sweet and tangy.
  • Refreshing: Perfect for hot summer days, this sorbet is incredibly refreshing.
  • Versatile: Easily adaptable for non-drinkers, making it a great treat for everyone.
  • Easy to Make: With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you’ll have a delicious homemade sorbet in no time.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re lounging by the pool, hosting a summer party, or just craving a cool treat, our Mango Passion Fruit Margarita Sorbet is sure to impress.

It’s a delightful way to enjoy the flavors of a classic margarita in a fun, frozen form.
